Tom Brady, other key starters, expected to make preseason debuts vs. Texans

August 18, 2017 - 12:51 pm

There could be good reason to watch Saturday's second preseason game between the Patriots and Texans: the preseason debut of Tom Brady and many of the first-team players.

Last Thursday against the Jaguars almost all the starters didn't play at all in the game, but according to the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe, Brady and many key starters are expected to make their preseason debuts on Saturday in Houston.

This would make sense in the preseason progression as the third preseason game is typically a dress rehearsal, and the team would likely want to give the starters some game experience before next Friday's third preseason game against the Lions.

It's unclear how long the starters will stay in the game, but a good guess is roughly a quarter.
