A few days ago it appeared Patriots special teams coach Joe Judge wasn't going to return to New England, but after Josh McDaniels got cold feet when it came to going to Indy, things have changed.

Judge, who had his contract expire at the end of the season, is expected to re-sign with the Patriots and return next season, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss. The report adds there are still some minor things to finalize and therefore the move is not official.

He apparently received interest from a few other teams, as well.

Judge has coached the Patriots special teams since 2015 after working under long-time special teams coach Scott O'Brien since 2012.
