What will it take for everyone to fully believe Tom Brady is playing in 2018?

Without Brady himself saying it, the closest thing to it came Monday when Don Yee, Brady's agent, said to ESPN's Adam Schefter he expects the quarterback to play next season.

"Tom's intentions have not changed," Yee said on Monday. "He's consistently said he'll play beyond this contract and into his mid 40s, or until he feels he isn't playing at a championship level. I understand the constant speculation, but this is one point he's been firm about."

It was reported last week Brady wants a new contract before the start of the season, and Yee acknowledged Brady, like most players, thinks about his contract.

"His objective every year is to outperform his contract and his own goals," Yee said. "And like every player, yes, he thinks about his contract -- it's a pretty natural thing to do. Every team's management knows this."

Although he didn't attend the start of the Patriots voluntary offseason program last week, Brady works out on his own every day.

"He customizes his preparation to each season in order to maximize his performance," Yee said. "His training methods are always evolving and getting better. The year he missed the first four games -- that month of training on his own was particularly efficient."

It will be interesting to see if Brady appears at the next phase of the offseason program, which has the players on the field doing football things for the first time, next week.
