Rob Gronkowski is dropping hints regarding his return for the 2018 season. And he's doing it in an appropriately bizarre manner.

Appearing at a press conference for Monster Energy, promoting a Supercross event at Gillette Stadium, Gronkowski offered his first public clue as to whether or not a return for '18 was in the cards.

According to Kevin Duffy of MassLive.com, here was part of the exchange:

Question: What's your status for the 2018 season?

Gronkowski: "Status is: Doing really great. I've been riding dirt bikes, training really hard. I can vroom vroom really good. I can ride that bike like no other, and my speed is up there."

Question: Are you still contemplating retirement from football?

Gronkowski: "Depends on how my racing skills go today."

Questiuon: What do you have to say to your fans who are wondering about your future?

Gronkowski: "They're going to see a freek-a-leek when I come back. That's what."

Question: So you are coming back?

Gronkowski: "Uh, maybe."

Question: Have you been in communication with Belichick?

Gronkowski: "Just Monster motocross I've been worrying about today. I mean, it's going to be great riding out there. People are going to get some big air."

Gronkowski was a bit more definitive when asked if he would be participating in any of the remaining optional workouts, flatly saying "no" when asked if he would be in attendance. When asked why the the tight end responded, "I've got dirt-biking skills to work on."
