The White House responded on Wednesday to Jemele Hill’s tweets about Donald Trump in which she called him a white supremacist.

During the a news briefing, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders condemned the posts, calling them "a fireable offense.”

When asked if Trump knows about Hill’s comments, Sanders said, "I'm not sure if he's aware, but I think that's one of the more outrageous comments anyone could make and certainly something that I think is a fireable offense by ESPN."

In one of her tweets, Hill wrote Trump is a "white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself with other white supremacists."
