Meet Ryan. When you look at him, he looks like your typical 2 1/2 yr old boy..full of life and curious about everything around him. But in the past few weeks he has gone from playing and jumping around, to surgery, radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Ryan was just diagnosed with Stage 4 Clear Cell Sarcoma.
In the past few weeks, he and his family have started along the path that we all dread.... He has already undergone surgery to have one of his kidneys removed, and though that went as well as his family
could hope, he has a long road ahead of him with countless radiation appointments and rounds of chemo.
PLEASE commit to just one day to help Ryan and his family. Ryan's mom Kelli had just returned back to school when Ryan was diagnosed. Now her education is in something far more personal than she'd ever imagine. Although its inevitable, the last think Kelli and her family needs at this point is to be worrying about medical expenses, costs of tests, or even gathering spare change to park.
The route is an estimated 7k, with most of the route having views of the water... and we will be having cookout right on the beach at the end.
Registration will start at 11 am, walk starts at noon.
Tickets are $30 per adult and includes ticket for the walk, lunch and a t-shirt. Pay just $5 for lunch for kids.
Part of all money raised will be matched by Verizon Foundation and will be donated to Pediatric Oncology Research at Hasbro Childrens Hospital, which is where Ryan is being treated. It will only go to research and equipment. The rest of the proceeds will go directly to the family to help with their growing medicals bills.
