Pinch-hitter Victor Martinez's bases-clearing double broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the seventh and led the Red Sox to a 7-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park. Jason Bay had three hits, including a two-run single in the first inning that gave him 100 RBIs for fourth time in five seasons. Paul Byrd pitched five innings and left with a 3-2 lead but Manny Delcarmen allowed two runs in the sixth. Billy Wagner pitched a perfect seventh with a pair of strikeouts for his first win in Boston. Jonathan Papelbon recorded the final four outs for his 35th save. For more, visit the Full Count blog.

The Boston Bruins announced on Wednesday afternoon that they've signed 29-year-old veteran defenseman Andy Wozniewski to a one-year contract. Wozniewski played mostly in the AHL last season for both the Peoria Rivermen and the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Penguins, and racked up 3 goals and 18 assists in 74 games. Wozniewski also played a single game for the St. Louis Blues last season, and has 12 career points and 81 penalty minutes in 77 NHL games played for the Blues and Maple Leafs in his career. Wozniewski also played 17 games as a freshman for UMass-Lowell in 1999-2000 before transferring to the University of Wisconsin. Wozniewski should provide the Bruins with additional depth along the blueline if injuries hit during training camp or the early season months.
With Victor Martinez getting a night off, the Red Sox will have J.D. Drew hitting third, with Mike Lowell returning to the lineup as a third baseman for Wednesday's game against the Orioles. The Sox are looking to continue their season-long feast on the Orioles -- Boston is 12-2 (.857) against Baltimore this year, the team's second-best single-season record against the O's, behind only a 12-1 (.923) mark in 1987.
