Doc on Sheed: 'It's not personal'

WALTHAM -- Doc Rivers said he has worked things out with Rasheed Wallace following their on-court dispute in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Cavaliers. The two spoke at practice on Monday before the team's trip to New York for Tuesday's game with the Knicks. "Rasheed's emotional, he's been emotional and some of that won't change. I can accept that," Rivers said. "As a coach, when an emotional hijack happens, your job is to get your team to function. You can't focus on the one at that point."

Rivers said following Sunday's game that he did not plan to publicly punish Wallace, after the veteran picked up a technical foul and then argued with Rivers as the coach took him out of the game.

"Yeah, he apologized. They all do," Rivers said. "It's not personal. Rasheed and I get along great. Rasheed gets along great with his teammates. But when you have an...

Beckett: 'I look at it more as what I gained'

The Red Sox and Josh Beckett announced the completion of a four-year, $68 million extension that will keep the pitcher in Boston through the 2014 season on Monday afternoon. There is little question that, had Beckett reached the open market after 2010 (presuming that he stayed healthy), he could have seen more guaranteed years and money in a deal. The five-year, $82.5 million deals signed by both Sox teammate John Lackey and Yankees starter A.J. Burnett suggest as much.

Yet Beckett made clear that he had no reservations about the possibility that he was not seeking every available guaranteed dollar.

“I guess I look at it differently than most people do. A lot of people look at what you could lose, or what you lost. I look at what I gained here,” said Beckett. “I gained four years more of stability knowing that i’m going to be in an organization that’s going to put a competitive team out...

Tiger Woods: I take full responsibility

Tiger Woods made his much anticipated press conference at Augusta National on Monday to clear some of the air with the media regarding the scandal that has turned the world's No. 1 golfer's world upside down. Woods started off by apologizing to the fans, the players on the PGA Tour and also to his family for the hurt he's caused with the all of the sexual allegations that have come to light over the past few months.

"What I've done over the past years has been just terrible to my family," he said. "That's my responsibility. I did it and I take full responsibility for it. As I've said, winning golf tournaments through all of this is irrelevant compared to the damage that I've caused."

Woods said he was nervous in regards to a reaction from the galleries during his Monday practice round, but he was overall very happy and relieved with the response.

"I didn't know what to...
