Chandler and Hector Rodriguez got quite the surprise Sunday morning at their Duxbury home, as they discovered a partially opened box on their front lawn that was emitting a strong odor.
Massachusetts State Police quickly arrived on the scene and determined through x-ray analysis that the box contained human remains.
“By late Sunday night, Duxbury police confirmed that the body has been handed over to the medical examiner, which is a job I wouldn’t take no matter what they paid me, you’ve got to deal with that. You have no idea who it is, how he got there, what happened,” Dennis said.
Former Yankees manager Joe Torre spoke for almost 28 minutes Sunday during his induction to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, but immediately had a look on regret on his face after finishing his address.
While Torre talked at length about the Yankees during his speech, he failed to mention George Steinbrennerand the leap of faith that the former Yankee owner offered Torre when he gave him the job of New York manager in 1996.
“As soon as I turned around, I said, ‘I forgot George.’ Not only George, but Hal [Steinbrenner] and the family and the whole thing,” Torre said after his speech.
“Don’t you spend some time compiling your speech, making a list of all the people you want to thank?” Dennis asked.
“Joe Torre is a really smart guy,” Buckley said. “He was a broadcaster with the Angels for several years, so he’s worked in media, he’s done a lot of stuff over the years. … But still, when you get up there with what is really, inarguably, the biggest day of your life, I have complete sympathy for him because there’s so many things going on that you’ve never dealt with in your life.”
The Rockies thought it would be a good idea to schedule a promotional giveaway before Saturday’s game against the Pirates, as the team decided to give away Troy Tulowitzki shirts to the first 15,000 fans that arrived at Coors Field.
The only issue? The shirts featured the name ‘Tulowizki,’ missing the second ‘T.’
“Somebody brighter than me, I forget who it was, said leave off the last ‘T’ for ‘trade,’ “ Buckley said.
The New York Post, after a thorough schedule analysis, revealed that President Barack Obama has played 81 rounds of golf and attended 75 political fundraisers in the 628 days since his 2012 re-election and is on pace to double the 104 days he spent golfing during his first term.

Luigi Militello shows off the Red SoxWorld Series championship ring he found and returned. (AP)
Drew Weber, a New York businessman who owns the Lowell Spinners, took the ring on a rare outing and left it on the sink of the bathroom at Luke’s Bar and Grill on Thursday night.
Luigi Militello, who owns the Manhattan establishment, found the ring.
“I was like, ‘Geez, it’s big. Who would leave this here?’ ” Militello told The Associated Press. “I’m a big Yankee fan. What are the chances of this happening?”
Weber called the restaurant after realizing he couldn’t find his keepsake.
“I went looking around my apartment and started having palpitations. Sweat was pouring off my forehead,” he said. “I’m looking at my finger and it’s not there.”
After some teasing followed by some baseball talk, Militello insisted he did not want a reward for finding the ring. However, Weber and the Red Sox will host him for the regular-season finale at Fenway on Sept. 28 — which is against the Yankees and is Derek Jeter‘s last scheduled game. Weber also will make a donation to a charity Militello chose.
– Jets cornerback Dee Milliner has only one year of NFL experience, but he’s showing that he’s an old pro when it comes to acting like a Jet.
“The best corner in the league? Me,” Milliner told the New York Daily News. “I ain’t gonna say that somebody else is better than me.”
Added Milliner: “I’m not going to say somebody that plays the same position is better than me. Don’t care if they’ve been in the league 10 years and I’ve been here five months. That’s how it’s going to go. I’m the best. I’m not going to say that another man that plays the same position … and say he’s better than me? I can’t do that.”
Said coach Rex Ryan: “Did he go through growing pains? Absolutely, but he was in the fire. So, right now, it’s nothing new to him. He’s out there, let’s go. And his teammates, believe me, they’re definitely confident in Dee Milliner.”
Nibali, an anti-doping advocate who races for the Astana team, crossed the line on the final stage 24 seconds behind Germany’s Marcel Kittel to win by 7 minutes, 37 seconds over France’s Jean-Christophe Peraud.
“Now that I find myself on the highest step on the Champs-Elysees podium, it’s more beautiful than I ever imagined,” Nibali told the crowd. “I’ve never been this moved in all my life.”
Nibali becomes the sixth rider to win all the Grand Tours — France, Italy and Spain.
