On Monday’€™s edition of Three for All on Middays with MFB, Lou Merloni, Christian Fauria and Tim Benz discussed the University of Virginia’€™s new “Game of Thrones” class, the easiest courses that the trio took while in college and Fauria’€™s surprising major while at the University of Colorado. To listen to the segment, go to the MFB audio on demand page.

HBO’€™s “Game of Thrones”€ has made the jump from the TV screen to the classroom. The University of Virginia offered a four-week course revolving around the popular fantasy series this summer.

“€œActually, when you read what the course description is, it actually looks a little harder than I want it to be,” Fauria said. “They really dig deep into the symbolism and everything else.”

- Fauria used the news of the “Game of Thrones” course to ask Merloni and Benz about the easiest class that they took in college. Benz went with a film class at Syracuse that was based on the work of famed director Steven Spielberg.

“It’€™s all of Spielberg’€™s careers and you just got to find the threads that weave together through all of Spielberg’€™s movies. … It wasn’€™t that hard, it was a pretty easy course.”

“Why would you, if you’€™re a school,  have those classes?” Merloni asked.

After thinking about it, Merloni brought up a military science class that he enrolled in at Providence College – a class that was popular with many student-athletes at the school.

“œIt would be like ROTC,”€ Merloni said. “You go in there and it would be like a class and you’€™d look around and sit down, and I’€™d look in the first and second line, the hockey team were to my right. I looked back here, and I’€™d see the power forwards on the hoop team over there to my left, the lacrosse team was back there and the soccer team was back there.”

- Fauria also discussed majors in college, revealing to both Benz and Merloni that his original major at the University of Colorado was film studies, a field that Fauria said he excelled in -€“ with minimum effort.

“€œI thought I was going to be Steven Spielberg,” Fauria said. “I was actually shooting movies. I had to rent this camera and we were supposed to do this whole dramatic, artsy piece, and I took my camera and I just ran it through some weeds and some bush and I tacked some crazy title at the end of it ‘€“ I got an ‘€œA’€ on that. At that point, I was like, ‘€˜OK, this is where I belong’ “€œ

Human remains found in box on Duxbury front lawn

Chandler and Hector Rodriguez got quite the surprise Sunday morning at their Duxbury home, as they discovered a partially opened box on their front lawn that was emitting a strong odor.

Massachusetts State Police quickly arrived on the scene and determined through x-ray analysis that the box contained human remains.

“By late Sunday night, Duxbury police confirmed that the body has been handed over to the medical examiner, which is a job I wouldn’€™t take no matter what they paid me, you’€™ve got to deal with that. You have no idea who it is, how he got there, what happened,” Dennis said.

Joe Torre fails to mention George Steinbrenner in Cooperstown speech

Former Yankees manager Joe Torre spoke for almost 28 minutes Sunday during his induction to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, but immediately had a look on regret on his face after finishing his address.

While Torre talked at length about the Yankees during his speech, he failed to mention George Steinbrenner and the leap of faith that the former Yankee owner offered Torre when he gave him the job of New York manager in 1996.

“€œAs soon as I turned around, I said, ‘€˜I forgot George.’€™ Not only George, but Hal [Steinbrenner] and the family and the whole thing,”€ Torre said after his speech.

“Don’€™t you spend some time compiling your speech, making a list of all the people you want to thank?” Dennis asked.

Joe Torre is a really smart guy,”€ Buckley said. “€œHe was a broadcaster with the Angels for several years, so he’€™s worked in media, he’€™s done a lot of stuff over the years. … But still, when you get up there with what is really, inarguably, the biggest day of your life, I have complete sympathy for him because there’€™s so many things going on that you’€™ve never dealt with in your life.”

Rockies misspell star Troy Tulowitzki’€™s name in shirt giveaway

The Rockies thought it would be a good idea to schedule a promotional giveaway before Saturday’€™s game against the Pirates, as the team decided to give away Troy Tulowitzki shirts to the first 15,000 fans that arrived at Coors Field.

The only issue? The shirts featured the name ‘€œTulowizki,’€ missing the second ‘€œT.’€

“€œSomebody brighter than me, I forget who it was, said leave off the last ‘€˜T’€™ for ‘€˜trade,’€™ “€œ Buckley said.

Obama played 81 rounds of golf since re-election

The New York Post, after a thorough schedule analysis, revealed that President Barack Obama has played 81 rounds of golf and attended 75 political fundraisers in the 628 days since his 2012 re-election and is on pace to double the 104 days he spent golfing during his first term.

Obama is also set to visit Martha’€™s Vineyard on Aug. 11 in order to attend a fundraising dinner.

“€œI hope it doesn’€™t overlap with my two weeks, because I like my privacy,”€ Buckley said.
