Reports: Amaker discusses Miami opening

According to multiple reports, Harvard basketball coach Tommy Amaker met with Miami officials Monday in Boston to discuss the Hurricanes' coaching vacancy. Amaker guided the Crimson to a 23-7 record and their first-ever Ivy League championship this season. They shared the title with Princeton and then lost a playoff game to determine the league's NCAA tournament representative. Harvard then lost at Oklahoma State in the first round of the NIT.

The former Duke guard has spent four seasons at Harvard. Previously, he served as head coach at Seton Hall and Michigan.

Miami also has been looking for a new athletic director. The Miami Herald reported Tuesday morning that the school is expected to name Shawn Eichorst to that post. Eichorst is deputy athletic director and chief administrative officer at the University of Wisconsin.
