After practice at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington on Wednesday morning, Bruins players reacted to the trades that sent Derek Morris to the Phoenix Coyotes and Byron Bitz to the Florida Panthers while bringing in defenseman Dennis Seidenberg. They acknowledged that the NHL is a business, yet at the same time said it is hard to see their teammates go.
"Both the guys we lost were good teammates and good people," goalie Tim Thomas said. "I had a lot in common with Derek and I had a lot in common with [Bitz]. They both played in the ECAC in hockey and are actually some of the only college graduates in here. It is sad to see them go, but you just want to wish them the best wherever they end up being traded to."
