Red Sox hitting coach Dave Magadan has been voted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame, earning more votes than anybody in the eligible class. Magadan, who played for the University of Alabama from 1981-83, won the Golden Spikes Award (given to college baseball's best player each year) after hitting .525 in '83. "Dave Magadan was an overwhelming choice for this year's class," said Mike Gustafson, the executive director of the College Baseball Hall of Fame. "He put up amazing numbers during his college career and will be a wonderful addition to the Hall of Fame."
