FoxSports.com is reporting that, according to one major-league source, the Red Sox are showing interest in pitcher Justin Duchscherer. The right-handed free agent didn't pitch in the majors in 2009, partially due to a bout with clinical depression. Duchscherer, a two-time All-Star, underwent hip surgery in '08 (similar to that performed on Sox' third baseman Mike Lowell), and arthroscopic surgery on his throwing elbow last March. He had served as a reliever for Oakland from 2004-07 before going 10-8 with a 2.54 as a starter in '08. The report states the Sox would be looking at Duchscherer as a starting pitcher.
