FOXBORO — Patriots defensive lineman Jarvis Green spoke briefly with reporters this morning and confirmed that he had surgery on his knee.
The 30-year-old, who has started all seven games this season, did not elaborate on the situation. The news initially was reported by CSNNE.com, and various reports indicate that Green could miss up to a month of action. As a result, more responsibility will likely fall on the shoulders of veteran backup Mike Wright, who said Tuesday morning that he’ll be “prepared.”
“I’m the utility guy,” Wright said. “Wherever they want to put me, I’ll be prepared.
“It’s tough to lose any player on the defense,” he added. “We’re going to let Jarvis handle his business and we’re going to take care of what we can on the field.”
