The Patriots added tight end Rob Myers to the practice squad Tuesday. The 23-year-old out of Utah State was a rookie who was originally signed by the Jets in April. He was waived by the Jets prior to the start of training camp and then signed with the Eagles in August. Myers spent two weeks on the Philadelphia practice squad after being waived by the Eagles prior to the start of the regular season. He had a few calls and a few tryouts — including stops with Green Bay and Cleveland — but he made the trip to Foxboro over the weekend for a Monday tryout.
“I’m excited,” said the 6-foot-4, 240-pounder. “I’ve just been living back in Houston. I got released from Philly four weeks ago, so I’ve just been working out by myself and doing all that stuff. I had a couple of tryouts, so it’s finally nice to be somewhere.”
