Toronto Maple Leafs winger Phil Kessel confirmed to reporters following Tuesday morning's pregame skate that he's passed all strength tests on his surgically repaired left shoulder and will play tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Kessel signed a five-year, $27 million contract with the Leafs after a September trade from the Bruins for a pair of first-round draft picks and a second-round choice, but had missed the first month of the season while rehabbing from offseason rotator cuff and labrum surgery. Kessel led the Bruins last season with 36 goals in 70 games but was dealt to the Leafs after nearly nonexistent negotiations between B's management and the restricted free agent last summer. With the Bruins struggling offensively and the Leafs hitting rock-bottom in October, there are going to be a lot of curious eyes cast toward Toronto on Tuesday night.
