Tim Wakefield, speaking with reporters prior to Wednesday's game, said he is scheduled to throw a side session on Friday and remains hopeful that he can start for the Sox on Monday in Kansas City. "I can pitch," Wakefield said. "As of today, I can pitch. The meeting we had basically was to determine whether or not it was safe for me to continue to pitch, because my strength has gone down. We wanted to get everybody together and decide. I'll throw another side Friday, see how it feels from there, and as of now I'm planning on pitching either Sunday or Monday." It is thought that if Wakefield pitches, it will be Monday in Kansas City as Daisuke Matsuzaka is slated to pitch Sunday. Check the Full Count blog for more details as they come.
