BOSTON – The Boston Celtics today announced their 2009 preseason schedule, which will open on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 on the road against the Houston Rockets in Hidalgo, Texas. The Celtics will conclude the preseason against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Columbus, Ohio on October 21.
The eight game line-up includes the return of the Celtics to the city of Hartford, Connecticut with a game against the Toronto Raptors on October 14. This will mark the Celtics first game in the city of Hartford since they faced the Philadelphia 76ers on October 18, 1995. The Celtics will be playing Atlantic Division opponents, the New York Knicks (October 9) and the New Jersey Nets (October 11), at the newly renamed TD Garden.
All Celtics preseason games can be seen on Comcast SportsNet New England. The Celtics also can be heard on the radio by tuning in to WEEI 850-AM for all preseason home games.
Tickets for Celtics preseason home games scheduled for the TD Garden will go on sale Thursday, August 27. Log onto celtics.com for further ticket information.
