Tiger Woods needed a spectacular comeback in the Open Championship just to make the cut on Friday. Two double bogeys on the back side pushed him to 6 over for the day, 7 over for the tournament and at least two strokes off the cut line with three holes left. But you can never count out Tiger. He rolled in a birdie at the 16th to get one stroke back, and headed to a par-5 17th - the easiest hole on the course.
Woods eventually finished the day at +5. The projected cut line is +4. Woods had failed to make it the weekend of a major only once as a pro: the 2006 U.S. Open that followed the death of his father. Since then, he made the cut in 43 consecutive tournaments worldwide. CLICK HERE for the complete leaderboard.
