Red Sox center fielder Mike Cameron was a late scratch prior to the start of Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles with abdominal soreness. In his place, Darnell McDonald got the start and was placed in the eighth spot in the lineup.
Cameron has been limited to 31 games this season due mostly to an abdominal strain he suffered in April. The 37-year-old is hitting .265/.324/.353/.677 in the first year of a two year, $15.5 million deal.
