Kings GM: Cousins 'not going anywhere'

League sources claim the Kings have grown tired of DeMarcus Cousins' antics and are "ready to seriously consider moving" their talented 22-year-old center, even if it means dealing him for pennies on the dollar, but Sacramento general manager Geoff Petrie denied that notion, according to NBA.com's David Aldridge.

"You can put that one to rest," said Petrie. "He's not going anywhere. You can lay that to rest. Some of that stuff lives in its own reality."

Still, sources told Aldridge that the Celtics and Pistons remain atop the list of suitors, and the C's are more willing to take the risk, hoping a winning situation, coach Doc Rivers and veteran leader Kevin Garnett could keep Cousins in check. The Kings might be tempted by Avery Bradley while the Celtics would be more willing to part with Jared Sullinger or Fab Melo, according to Aldridge, but Petrie didn't address any of those scenarios.

"Everybody's moving forward," added the Kings GM. "He's still a young, developing player that's yet to reach his potential and is still a major piece of the future planning here. Everyone's committed to working with his development as a player and his overall growth. ... He's still an important part of the future. He's like a lot of people. Some have good days, and some days are better than others. We're going to continue to work with him to help him reach his potential, which is still very high."

Then again, Petrie might just be hoping to entice a sweeter offer from the Celtics or any other team.
