FOXBORO -- After missing his last five games with a broken left forearm, Rob Gronkowski will return to action on Sunday in the season finale against the Dolphins, according to a report from CSNNE.com's Tom Curran.
Curran reports via his Twitter page that source indicates Gronkowski will play for the first time since breaking the forearm on the final extra point of New England's 59-28 win over the Colts on Nov. 18 at Gillette Stadium. Gronkowski returned to practice on Dec. 14 and has participated in all seven practices since, but he has been inactive for games against the 49ers and the Jaguars.
Coach Bill Belichick and Gronkowski himself said this week that the Pro Bowl tight end would only return when medically cleared to do so. Gronkowski was limited in all three practices this week and was listed as "questionable" on Friday's official injury report.
Despite missing five games, Gronkowski leads the Patriots with 10 touchdown receptions, five more than Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez.
