Red Sox manager Terry Francona touched on outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury's status, Wednesday's lineup and catcher Victor Martinez' availability in his weekly appearance on "Dale and Holley" on Wednesday.
Ellsbury, who was kept out of Tuesday night's lineup with soreness in his side, was X-rayed and given a CT scan during the game.
"Hopefully it just got tender and it's not something to worry about and we can give him a day and get him back in there," Francona said.
As for the choice to make Ellsbury the team's primary center fielder, outfielder Mike Cameron's health and the desire to create positional stability drove the decision.
"It was more to kind of to create some consistency," Francona said. "The most (Cameron) has played is three days in a row.
"Trying to keep some consistency and and maybe make it a little easier for Cam, we thought 'Maybe this will be the right thing to do."
When asked about Wednesday night's lineup, Francona said that J.D. Drew isn't feeling well and Martinez will likely be unavailable. For the complete transcript, check back at the Full Count Blog.
