KG on facing Heat: 'Let's get it on'

The Celtics are considered by most "experts" to be heavy underdogs against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals that begin Monday night in South Florida. The Celtics won three of the four in the regular season but are trying to avenge last year's loss in five games in the Eastern semifinals. The Heat elminated the Knicks and Pacers to advance while the Celtics had to survive the Hawks and Sixers to get to the Eastern finals for the third time in five years. 

"it's what it is," Kevin Garnett said after the Celtics beat the Sixers, 85-75, in Game 7 Saturday night. "They're playing well right now. They beat a very tough Indiana team. I think LeBron [James] and D-Wade [Dwyane Wade] are playing on high levels right now. We have a lot of confidence in ourselves right now. It should be an interesting series.

"This is a good time right now. This is the cream of the cream. This is what it's all about, conference finals. We definitely didn't like the way we left last year. So, we'll see what happens, we'll see what happens. Let's get it on."

"I expected us to be here," added Paul Pierce. "Probably a lot of you [media] didn't. But that's why a lot of you are wrong a lot of times." 

Pierce said winning three of four from the Heat doesn't mean that much now that they're meeting in the playoffs. 

"I think it gives us some sort of confidence," Pierce said. "We know we're capable of going in their building and getting a win. But they're a different team. They're a playoff-mindset team now. It's a lot different from regular season to playoffs. It's a different mindset. Teams have a chance to scout you, sit there for a couple of days and go over every play you run. They're going to be a lot tougher in the playoffs than the regular season."

The Celtics travel to Miami on Sunday in advance of their series beginning on Monday. The Celtics and Heat will play Games 1 and 2 in Miami on Monday and Wednesday before the series shifts back to Boston for Games 3 and 4 Friday and Sunday nights.
