Ray Allen will miss his fourth straight game with a sprained ankle, but coach Doc Rivers said that he isn't concerned and thinks Allen may be ready to return for Friday's game against Minnesota. Allen went through the shootaround and his normal pregame routine before Wednesday's game with the Jazz, but Rivers said that it just didn't feel right.
Mickael Pietrus also is out after suffering a concussion in last Friday's game against the 76ers in Philadelphia. There was no update on when Pietrus might be able to return or take the baselines tests he needs for clearance. Avery Bradley will start in Allen's place, and Rivers likes the defensive combination in the backcourt with Bradley and Rondo.
In a related matter, Rivers said that he may wind up sitting players out in April when the C's have a series of back-to-backs, as well as a stretch of three games in three nights.
"At the end of the day if it comes down to seeding or health, I’m going to choose health," Rivers said. "You would rather have a better seed, but you can go wherever you want; if you’re not healthy it’s not going to matter, especially with us."
