Pats finish practice week with walkthrough

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Patriots put the capper on their week of practices in Indianapolis with an hour-long walkthrough at Colts’ team headquarters on Friday.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski took part in the session -- wearing a “Yo Soy Fiesta” t-shirt -- on a limited basis. According to pool reporter Alex Marvez, the session never saw the players run faster than a trot while executing plays. Gronkowski, who was dressed in gray sweatpants and gray sneakers, moved without a limp as the Patriots executed their offensive plays.

“He practiced yesterday. He didn’t do anything today,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said of Gronkowski. “We’ll see where he’s at on Sunday, but hopefully (he’ll play). I saw no setbacks. He’s still making progress.”

A bulk of the session was given over to special teams work, as Belichick worked as an offensive lineman on punts, trying to draw the punt team coverage offsides by setting his hand on the ground just before the snap. Belichick and special teams coach Scotty O’Brien also worked as defensive lineman while Stephen Gostkowski attempted some field goals.

“We were just going through the looks,” said Belichick. “We have key guys based on where they line up. We just try to show them that as a final reminder.”

Going forward, the Patriots will hold meetings, but will not practice. The team will have a Friday-night curfew (per usual for a Friday night the Sunday before a road game), and will have a team picture taken Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

“We’ll have meetings and we’ll do some reminders and things like that in our hotel, but we’re not going to actually practice,” Belichick said.

“I think we’re ready to go. We’ve worked hard this week ... Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in practice, and we had good practices back (in Foxboro) last week. We went through some mental-review things out there (Friday.)”
