Varitek Sits While Drew, Lugo and Youkilis Return to the Lineup

The Red Sox' middle of the order was restored with the determination that both Kevin Youkilis (back/ribs) and J.D. Drew (quad) were healthy enough to return to the fourth and fifth spots in the lineup against Tampa Bay's Matt Garza tonight. Julio Lugo (knee) also returns to the ninth spot in the lineup. George Kottaras, meanwhile, will slot into the eighth spot to give catcher Jason Varitek a day off. That move was no doubt made easier by Varitek's poor career numbers (1-for-7 with a walk) against Garza.
