While there has never been an official date for Shaquille O'Neal to return from his Achilles injury, the new target date the team has in mind is an April 5 home against the 76ers. Celtics coach Doc Rivers said that he doesn't expect O'Neal to be with the team on their four-game road trip, although that could change. They return to the Garden on April 3 to play the Pistons, but Rivers thinks that the next game may be the date that O'Neal returns.
"I just think [playing on the road trip is] optimistic in my opinion," Rivers said. "There’s a better chance next Sunday and I still don’t think that’s realistic. I think more the game after that would be our target."
