Dustin Pedroia called into The Big Show on Wednesday to announce that he will join the program each Wednesday during the offseason. The 2007 AL MVP was asked how his level of progression following the September 3 surgery on his fractured left foot.
"I should be 100 percent 12 weeks after surgery," said Pedroia. "I'll be out of the boot in three weeks, so we'll see how it goes ... I can't wait to get to spring training and get going."
Pedroia was asked about the possibility of Cliff Lee signing as a free agent with the Yankees in the offseason. Lee is 3-0 in the 2010 postseason and has never lost in eight career playoff starts.
"I don't think about that," Pedroia said. "We faced Cliff a lot, he's pretty darn good. He pounds the zone with a 91, 92 MPH fastball and it looks like it's about 100 MPH ... He's pretty special. I hope he's not over there in pinstripes."
