Delonte West is returning to Boston from New York to undergo further tests on his ailing back, Celtics coach Doc Rivers told reporters prior to Wednesday night's preseason game against the Knicks.
West has been suffering from back spasms throughout much of training camp. According to reports, he is not scheduled to play in Toronto on Friday and remains questionable for Saturday's rematch against the Knicks in Hartford. West is suspended for the first 10 games of the regular season, which begins on Oct. 26 against the Heat.
