Appearing on the Dennis & Callahan show this morning, Tom Brady discussed the Patriots' 26-10 victory over the Falcons on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Brady addressed his sideline demeanor, as cameras showed him screaming in the area of the Patriots bench following another missed opportunity in the red zone during the second quarter.
"It's the heat of the moment," Brady said. "It's an emotional game, there are emotional things that you say."
Brady would not elaborate on what he said or if there was anyone in particular who he was mad at, although the display came right after Joey Galloway dropped a pass at the 3-yard line and Sam Aiken appeared to break off a route in the end zone and missed a ball just out of his reach.
"It's part of offensive football, the quarterback-receiver relationship," Brady said. "It's not that I'm right and they're wrong, we're just on different pages at times. That's what it is earlier in the year when you've never played with each other."
Brady said he wasn't too surprised when Bill Belichick decided to have his team go for it on fourth-and-1 from the New England 24-yard line in the third quarter. The Patriots got the first down on a 2-yard run from Sammy Morris.
"It was an aggressive call. ... We're going to need more of those this year," Brady said.
"[Belichick] really challenged us this week in practice on those short-yardage situations, and we really came through."
