Red Sox manager Terry Francona said Thursday that the initial report on the wrist that chased rehabbing Red Sox shortstop Jed Lowrie from a game in Pawtucket last night is postive. Lowrie was examined today by Dr. Thomas Gill and Francona said that the the wrist discomfored felt by Lowrie is something he can probably play with. Lowrie has a history of left wrist problems and was most recently placed on the DL with an irritated left forearm.
In just 19 games with the Sox this season, Lowrie is hitting .143 with one homer and seven runs batted in. He's hit three dingers in his first three games of his rehab assignment for Pawtucket.
