Rodney Purvis scored 21 points to lead NC State to an 82-64 rout of Boston College on Wednesday night in Raleigh, N.C.
Lonnie Jackson scored 16 points for BC (12-16, 4-11 ACC), while Olivier Hanlan and Ryan Anderson each netted 12.
Sharpshooting Scott Wood scored 17 points for NC State (20-8, 9-6), which shot 55.9 percent compared to BC’s 38.9 percent. The Wolfpack also had a 39-25 rebounding advantage, led by 10 boards from Richard Howell.
BC overcame an early 16-point deficit to close to within three points late in the first half, before Wood hit an off-balance 3-pointer at the buzzer for a six-point NC State lead. In the second half, the Wolfpack again built up a big lead, and this time BC had no response.
BC next hosts Virginia on Sunday afternoon.
