Celtics second-round pick Luke Harangody will be a member of the C's summer league team, according to Scott Schroeder of RidiculousUpside.com [1]. The Celtics selected the 6-foot-8, 251-pound former Notre Dame forward with the 52nd overall pick in last Thursday's NBA draft.
JayCee Carroll is currently the only point guard on the team's summer league roster. The combo guard went undraft out of Utah State in 2008 but played for the Raptors' summer league team before playing the last two seasons in Europe.
The shooting guards for the summer will be Rodney Green and Ryan Thompson. Green, who went undrafted last week out of La Salle, averaged 18.5 points per game as a senior. The 6-foot-6 Thompson averaged 17.2 points per game this past season as a senior at Rider University.
DeShawn Sims and Ryan Wittman are the small forwards for the summer. Sims, a second-team All Big 10 selection, led the conference in offensive boards while playing for Michigan this past season. Wittman, a 6-foot-7, 215 pound Cornell alum, had his best season as a junior, averaging 18.5 points, 3.6 rebounds , 2.6 assists per game.
Harangody is the lone power forward, with Radford University's Artsiom Parakhouski playing center. Parakhouski stands at 6-foot-11 and 260 pounds and averaged 21.4 points and 13.4 rebounds per game as a senior.
The summer league schedule is as follows:
