LOS ANGELES- While Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli would not confirm increasing speculation that the team is trying to move goalie Tim Thomas and center Marc Savard, he did indicate at the conclusion of the NHL draft Saturday that the B's plan to remain active in the trade market.
“I’m not really into speculating about that kind of stuff,” said Chiarelli, who would not comment on Thomas or Savard having potentially waived no-trade clauses. “I’m not going to confirm or deny."
He was able to confirm the Bruins are still exploring trade waters.
"I went into this last period of a month or so thinking that I’m going to be more active in the trade market, I think that’s still the case,” said Chiarelli. “The trade market is still from now until the end of June 30th and then it even extends a bit beyond. There’s a bit of a shuffling of the unrestricted market and at the same time the trade market is still going on, so I’ll be involved. We’ll see what happens there.”
