The Red Sox have signed fourth-round draft pick Jeremy Hazelbaker ($191,700 bonus), an outfielder from Ball State University, and eight-round selection Shannon Wilkerson ($100,000), an outfielder from Augusta State. With those two signings now officially concluded, the Sox have signed four of their top 10 selections from this year's draft. Hazelbaker and Wilkerson have joined second-round pick Alex Wilson in Lowell, while fifth-rounder Seth Schwindenhammer is in the Rookie Level Gulf Coast League.
The Sox are confident that first-round pick Reymond Fuentes will also sign at or near the Major League Baseball recommended slot signing bonus in the near future, in a timetable that would permit the outfielder to play this summer in the Gulf Coast League.
