NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told Chris Johnson of the The Canadian Press [1] Tuesday that training camps are expected to open on Sunday.
The Sunday start to camps would mark one week since the NHL and NHL Players' Association agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement. The CBA still needs to be ratified by the board of governors, a process that is expected to last from Wednesday until Saturday. It is unknown when the season will start, but it is widely expected that a 48-game schedule will begin on Jan. 19.
In the meantime, Bruins players have been meeting at Agganis Arena to hold informal practices. For updates from those practices, visit the Big Bad Blog [2]. For complete Bruins coverage, visit weei.com/bruins [3].
