FOXBORO -- Tom Brady has had several classic encounters with the Ravens and future hall of fame linebacker Ray Lewis, who announced to his team that he was retiring after the playoffs on Wednesday.
"He is still an incredible player and competitor," Brady said. "I know so many people have said so many things about him. I'm certain the guys that have played with him can probably speak to him the best, but it was a privilege to play against him."
Brady will have that privilege again on Jan. 13 in the AFC divisional round if the Bengals beat the Texans on Saturday and the Ravens beat the Colts in Baltimore this Sunday.
Brady was reminded about his 1-yard QB keeper for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of the AFC championship last January, when Lewis drilled him in the back, sparking a high-spirited yelling match between the two rivals.
"I always enjoy beating the Ravens, any time I can beat those guys," Brady said. "They got us once this year. There's nobody that has played that position any better than him."
Brady lost to the Ravens, 31-30, on Sept. 23 in Baltimore and 33-14 in the 2010 AFC wild-card round. Brady escaped an ugly performance against the Ravens last January in the AFC championship game when Sterling Moore knocked the potential game-winning touchdown out of the hands of Lee Evans and Billy Cundiff missed a game-tying chip shot field goal as the Patriots beat the Ravens, 23-20.
