FOXBORO -- The Patriots will host an AFC divisional round game on Sunday, Jan. 13, at 4:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium, according to the schedule released by the NFL Sunday evening. The game will be on CBS-TV.
The Patriots earned a first-round bye thanks to their 28-0 win over the Dolphins on Sunday in the regular-season finale along with Houston's 28-16 loss in Indianapolis. The Patriots enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs, behind the No. 1 Broncos, who finished 13-3.
The Patriots will play the Texans on Jan. 13 if the Texans beat the Bengals next Saturday. If the Bengals win, the Patriots will host the winner of next Sunday's game in Baltimore between the Colts and Ravens.
The NFL announced the full slate of games for next weekend on Sunday. For the second straight season, Cincinnati and Houston will open the playoffs at Reliant Stadium at 4:30 p.m. That will be followed by the Vikings visiting Lambeau Field for a match with the Packers. On Sunday, the Ravens will host the Colts at 1 p.m., followed by the Redskins hosting the Seahawks at 4:30 p.m.
The next weekend, Denver will host the Bengals, Colts or Ravens in the first divisional game on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 4:30 p.m. (CBS). That will be followed by an NFC divisional game in San Francisco at 8 p.m. ET (FOX). On Sunday, the Falcons will host the second NFC divisional round game in Atlanta at 1 p.m. (FOX) followed by the Patriots in the AFC divisional game at 4:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium.
