FOXBORO -- Tom Brady was taken off the injury report on Thursday, a day after he was given the day off to rest his right shoulder after throwing a career-high 65 passes on Sunday night in the 41-34 loss to the 49ers at Gillette Stadium.
Linebacker Mike Rivera (ankle) was the only player to miss practice due to injury on Thursday outside in sweats and shells. Jermaine Cunningham is serving the fourth and final week of his four-game suspension for violation of the NFL PED policy.
Rob Gronkowski practiced for a second straight day and was again officially listed as "limited" Thursday, six days after his return to Patriots practice. He was inactive on Sunday for the game against the 49ers. Gronkowski was one of 18 listed as limited by the Patriots in their first injury report of the week.
Meanwhile, the prospects for the return of Jacksonville Pro Bowl running back Maurice Jones-Drew dimmed on Thursday, as he missed his second straight practice this week with a foot injury suffered in Week 7 against the Raiders. He has not played since, missing Jacksonville's last eight games.
Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey said Wednesday "it would be unlikely" that Jones-Drew would play against the Patriots if he missed Thursday's practice.
