FOXBORO -- Despite practicing on Friday, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will not play and will sit out a fourth straight game recovering from a broken left forearm on Nov. 18 against the Colts.
Gronkowski is one of six inactives for the Patriots, who are carrying only 52 players on the active roster heading into the game with San Francisco. In addition to Gronkowski, safety Derrick Martin, linebacker Tracy White, offensive lineman Markus Zusevics, defensive end Jake Bequette and defensive lineman Ron Brace are also inactive.
Aqib Talib - who injured his hip late in the first half against the Texans - is active and will play, as will starting left tackle Nate Solder, who appeared on the injury report on Friday with an abdomen injury.
For the 49ers, wide receiver Mario Manningham and Tavares Gooden are the noteable inactives.
