The Red Sox acquired minor league right-hander Graham Godfrey from the Athletics to complete the Nov. 28 trade that sent minor league righty Sandy Rosario to Oakland. Godfrey was assigned to Triple-A Pawtucket.
Godfrey, 28, was a Pacific Coast League All-Star last year playing for Triple-A Sacramento. He finished the season 9-2 with a 3.29 ERA and 60 strikeouts vs. 26 walks in 104 innings. He started the season on the A's roster and appeared in five MLB games, starting four, over the first two months of the season, going 0-4 with a 6.43 ERA.
A 34th-round draft pick of the Blue Jays in 2006, Godfrey made his major league debut in 2011 with the A's, pitching in five games. In 10 career major league games, he is 1-6 with a 5.09 ERA.
