FOXBORO -- New father Tom Brady was again at practice on Friday as the team continued its outdoor preparations for the Texans Monday night at Gillette Stadium. Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen welcomed their second child, daughter Vivian Lake, on Wednesday. Brady attended practice on Thursday and was again at practice on Friday with the rest of the team in sweats and shells on the upper grass fields outside Gillette Stadium.
Offensive lineman Nick McDonald, who missed practice on Thursday due to a shoulder injury, returned on Friday, leaving Rob Gronkowski (forearm) and Jermaine Cunningham (suspended) as the only players not in attendance.
Logan Mankins and Chandler Jones, both nursing ankle injuries, attended practice for a second straight day and were also at Wednesday's light walk-through.
The Patriots are carrying 54 players on their roster due to the roster exemption granted by the NFL to allow running back Brandon Bolden to return from his suspension and practice this week. The Patriots will practice again on Saturday and have a walk-through on Sunday before entertaining the Texans on Monday night at 8:30.
