The NFL announced Monday afternoon that Patriots defensive end Jermaine Cunningham has been suspended four games without pay for violating league policy on performance enhancing substances. According to Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe [1], Cunningham tested positive for Adderall.
The 24-year-old Cunningham has 23 tackles (15 solo) and 2.5 sacks this season with the Patriots, his third in New England. Cunningham is the second member of the Patriots to be suspended this season for a drug violation -- running back Brandon Bolden was hit with a four-game ban earlier this season for a similar incident.
