Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant had an impressive game Sunday, making 12 catches for 145 yards, but Dallas fans showed that their patience is thin with the controversial and inconsistent pass-catcher. When Bryant caught a second-quarter pass and stepped out of bounds short of the first-down marker rather than take a hit while going for extra yards, the fans let him know what they thought. There were boos after the play, and more boos when the replay was shown on the scoreboard.
"I was hearing it," Bryant told USA Today. "Man, that hurt my heart."
Bryant acknowledged he made a mistake, but he insisted that he didn't realize where he was on the play.
"When I seen where we was at, I was like, Damn. I didn't mean to do that," Bryant says. "It's not like me. It's not like me to run out of bounds. I seen like four or five guys coming, so I took a step out. I didn't see the first-down marker. That's my bad. I should've known where we was at on the field."
