FOXBORO -- For the third straight game, tight end Aaron Hernandez will sit out with a recurrence of his sprained right ankle. Also inactive Sunday against the Colts are starting offensive linemen Logan Mankins and Dan Connolly. Patrick Chung (shoulder/hamstring) will miss his fourth straight game. Also inactive are tight end Daniel Fells and defensive ends Jake Bequette and Justin Francis.
About 25 minutes before the inactives were announced publicly at 2:55 p.m., Patrick Chung tweeted the cryptic message, Gotta love business. The tweet was taken down minutes later. (For a screenshot, visit the football blog It Is What It Is [1])
Aqib Talib is active and will likely get the start at left corner while Devin McCourty is expected to start his third straight game at strong safety. With Mankins and Connolly both out, Donald Thomas is likely to start at left guard while Nick McDonald is expected to start at right guard.
For the Colts, Vontae Davis is out for a third straight game, leaving former Patriot Darius Butler to start at left corner in his spot. Butler recovered a fumble and intercepted two passes last week against the Jaguars, including one returned for a touchdown, earning him AFC defensive player of the week honors.
