The Patriots have released wide receiver Deion Branch and defensive back Malcolm Williams, and have added wide receiver Greg Salas and cornerback Aqib Talib to the 53-man roster. The 33-year-old Branch has nine catches on the season, his 11th in the league, while Williams has been up and down between the active roster and the practice squad throughout the course of the season.
The Patriots acquired Salas shortly before the start of the regular season, and the 24-year-old has spent the bulk of his time this year on the practice squad. Meanwhile, Talib was picked up in a trade with Tampa Bay earlier this season, and the 26-year-old has yet to play a game for the Patriots.
The news was first reported by Tom E. Curran of Comcast SportsNet.
