According to multiple reports, the Marlins and Blue Jays are on the verge of a mammoth trade that will bolster Toronto's big-league roster.
The Blue Jays will get infielder Jose Reyes, left-handed starter Mark Buehrle, righty Josh Johnson, outfielder Emilio Bonifacio and catcher John Buck from Miami. Fox Sports reported Tuesday that the Marlins will receive infielders Yunel Escobar and Adeiny Hechavarria, right-hander Henderson Alvarez and lefty Justin Nicolino.
Miami had signed Reyes and Buehrle in what was an expensive offseason last year, but the Marlins finished with a 69-93 record, good for last place in the NL East. The Blue Jays finished fourth in the AL East last season with a 73-89 record, four games ahead of the last-place Red Sox.
