Speaking on Comcast Sports Net's Patriots Postgame Live Show Sunday night, former Patriots cornerback Ty Law and former Pats wide receiver Troy Brown took their old team's defense to task after New England's 37-31 win over the Bills in Foxboro.
Both former players took issue with the Patriots' inability to stop the Buffalo offense, which out-gained the Pats, 481-347, in total yards. The Bills also came away with 35 first downs, compared to New England's 27, while going 7-for-11 on third down conversions.
"The Patriots, they finished the game, they won. But overall that was not a great performance by the team. I think Buffalo outplayed them," Law said. "Take away a few of those penalties and we would see another score right now. The Patriots' defense is still atrocious. They are terrible. You can't say anything good about them at this point."
Brown then echoed Law's analysis, saying, "I want to follow-up on that Ty, the defense is pitiful."
